IMEDA supports TEIPIR

According to section 2 article 4 of IMEDA's founding charter, one of the aims of the institute is to support the teaching of mechatronics through appropriate actions, such as funding for the creation of mechatronic laboratories in national educational institutions, authoring of lecture notes, and preparation of educational laboratory experiments.

IMEDA has prepared a series of lecture notes for the teaching of mechatronics in the institute of technological education in Piraeus. In addition, an online service was setup for the benefit of students contributing to their fast access to information, minimising the use of paper and promoting their online interaction.

TEIPIR is one of the oldest institutes of technological education in Greece. Its department of mechanical engineering enjoys the respect of the industry and has strong ties with the Greek naval industry and services sector. Located near the largest port of Greece and the Mediterranean it continues a long established tradition in mechanical engineering related to naval technologies. The aim of IMEDA in TEIPIR is to establish a centre of excellence in maritime embedded systems.
